Get creative with some colourful school fundraising and join the fight for better mental health!
Go Bright For Mind At Your School
This year, we’re inviting, schools and colleges across Birmingham and Solihull to Go bright for Birmingham Mind. An exciting and colourful way to make a real difference!
By hosting a fun fundraiser, you’ll not only raise much-needed funds for mental health services across our region, but you’ll also raise awareness about mental health in your school and get everyone talking about how we can support each other.

Whether it’s a bake sale with rainbow cupcakes, a fashion show with the brightest outfits, or crafting your own colourful creations, Go bright for Mind is all about bringing energy, fun, and creativity to the cause. Plus, we’ll be right there with you to help every step of the way—offering fundraising ideas, tips, and a step-by-step guide to make it all happen.

Your Steps To Go Bright
Step 1: What?
Decide the activity. However, you raise money, make it bright and shine a light on mental health?
- Dress bright Non School Uniform day
- Dress bright for School Sports day
- Dress bright School Disco
- Host a colourful cupcake bake sale
- Host a fashion show or colour filled talent night

Step 2: When and where?
We are encouraging all schools to Go bright for Mind during Mental Health Awareness Week, choose any date between 13th – 19th May 2025
Step 3: How? Choose how you will collect donations
Here are some ideas – you can use ticket sales, sponsorship forms, collection tins, an online fundraising page like JustGiving or display a QR code at your venue.
Step 4: Get your materials
We can provide posters, banners, flags, bunting, and collection boxes. Email fundraising@birminghammind.org to order.
Step 5: Shout out
Promote, promote, promote! Visit the national Mind charity’s fundraising hub where you can find useful toolkits, posters, and templates. They can also provide an assembly presentation that explains more about Mind and young people’s mental health. This is a great way to promote the cause and get the word out about your fundraising. Email fundraising@birminghammind.org for help.
