Thank You for choosing to support Birmingham Mind.
Firstly, you need to decide what sort of activity you want to do. Choose an event that you will enjoy organising and taking part in and that you know you’ll be able to organise with relative ease. We will give you all the support you need to make the event a success.
Why not take on a challenge or a run as a great way to help change a person’s life, while staying fit and having fun.
1. Physical Challenges
-
Half Marathon/Marathon: Take on the challenge of running a half marathon or a full marathon to raise funds.
-
Skydiving: For those looking for an adrenaline rush, a skydive could be an incredible and memorable way to raise money.
-
Mud Runs/Obstacle Courses: Test your physical endurance and have fun getting muddy while raising funds for a great cause.
-
Cycling Events: Whether it’s a long-distance bike ride or a local cycling challenge, this is another great way to fundraise.
-
Sponsored Walks: If you prefer something a little less intense, a sponsored walk through local parks or around the city could still have a big impact.
2. Hosting Events
-
Quiz Nights: Organize a fun quiz night at your local pub, community center, or even virtually, and charge an entry fee or encourage donations.
-
Bake Sales or Coffee Mornings: Gather your friends, bake some delicious treats, and sell them for donations.
-
Silent Auctions: Encourage local businesses to donate items or experiences for auction, with the proceeds going to Birmingham Mind.
-
Sponsored Challenges: Do something fun and unusual like a “no sugar for a month” challenge or a 24-hour readathon, and ask people to sponsor you.
3. Virtual Fundraising
-
Online Crowdfunding: Create an online fundraising page and share it with your friends and family through social media or email.
-
Virtual Runs or Walks: If you can’t attend in person, you can join a virtual event, where you complete the distance on your own time and raise funds online.
Why Participate?
Every pound you raise helps Birmingham Mind provide life-changing support and services to adults dealing with mental health conditions. Your fundraising efforts directly contribute to improving the well-being and care of those in need.
Holding a fundraising event can be a great way to raise money and have fun in the process. Whatever you want to do; from holding a cake sale, putting on a concert, organising a raffle, doing a pub quiz, a treasure hunt, tea dance, book sale or even Zumba, you can turn it into a fundraising event.
Your fundraising event can be as large or small as you want it to be, but however you do it we are here to support you every step of the way, ensuring that whatever you decide to do is a great success!
