Birmingham Mind was founded in 1962 as the Birmingham Association of Mental Health. It changed its name to Birmingham Mind in 2008.
Since the beginning of our Charity we have focused on improving the lives, opportunities and choices open to people living with mental health issues. Although more latterly we have also delivered services and interventions to try and prevent mental health problems from developing.
It currently provides services in, and beyond, the boundaries of the City of Birmingham.
For an account of our history see A History of Birmingham Mind published in 2012 to celebrate our 50th birthday.
