Birmingham Mind was founded in 1962 as the Birmingham Association of Mental Health. It changed its name to Birmingham Mind in 2008.
From the beginning it has maintained a concern with improving the lives, opportunities and choices open to people living with mental distress.
It currently provides services in, and beyond, the boundaries of the City of Birmingham.
For an account of our history see A History of Birmingham Mind published in 2012 to celebrate our 50th birthday.
