Studies have shown that having pets and spending time with animals has a positive impact on mental health. They help to reduce loneliness and anxiety as well as boosting self esteem and adding structure to our day. 

This National Pet Day – Thursday 11th April, we want to see your pet pictures and know why your pets mean so much to you. 

Pet Photo Competition

This April, send us a picture of your pet, for a chance for them to appear in our 2025 Pet Calendar, which will be sold to raise vital funds for better mental health in Birmingham. We are looking for six pet’s to feature in our calendar. We want to see all your pets from pigmy hedgehogs, to furry ferrets, curious stick insects to posing ponies, no matter if your pet is great or small, we cant wait to see them all!

Additionally, for a £5 donation, you can choose to be entered into our exclusive prize draw to be in with the chance of winning a £30 voucher from Pet’s Villa (voucher is for online use only) and you’ll also receive 25% off the 2025 calendar. The competition is open to our supporters, followers, staff, service users and volunteers. You can enter as many pets, as many times as you like. Pictures can be submitted with a name or anonymously.

Please note, we cannot accept pictures with people in them. Please only send pictures of your pets.

The photography competition will close at 10pm on Thursday 25th April. The entries will be judged by a representative from Pets Villa and a Birmingham Mind Trustee.

The winning six pictures will be featured in our Birmingham Mind 2025 calendar.

The winner of the £30 voucher, will be selected at random and will be notified by email by 5pm on Friday 26th April.

The winning pet pictures, will be notified by Friday 26th July.
