Previous Vice Chair of Friendship Care & Housing in Birmingham as well as Chair of Flagship Housing Group for 5 years.

James retired in 2021 after 11 years as Bishop of Rochester (Church of England).  Alongside this role, he also served as Bishop for HM Prisons for 7 years and was one of the Bishops in the House of Lords.  He was previously a Bishop in Norfolk for 6 years, and before that was in parish and other ministry in Birmingham for 18 years.
