A new helpline will provide support for those who identify as Trans, across the country. MindLine Trans+, which is manned by volunteers, will offer support for issues relating to gender identity.
MindLine Trans+ will offer a confidential, non-judgemental listening service, providing support and advice for those who identify as Trans, non-binary, agender, and gender fluid – as well as their friends and family, who may need advice on how to best support their loved ones.
The calls will be handled by trained volunteers, who have experience with gender identity-related issues. They will be able to listen to any concerns or problems someone may be facing, as well as being able to signpost to other organisations and services for support.
The listening service was developed by National Mind and some local Minds in South West England. After the success of the pilot scheme, which has been operating since February, it has now been rolled out to take calls from people across England and Wales.
Currently, MindLine Trans+ will operate from 8pm – Midnight, on Monday & Friday.
If you, or someone you know, would like to talk to an experienced volunteer at MindLine Trans+, you can do so on 0300 330 5468.
