Birmingham City Council Early Years Health and Wellbeing Consultation

Birmingham City Council is currently undertaking a consultation on their Early Years Services. This is an area that is a high priority for Birmingham Mind as many mental health issues relate to early years experiences.

Early Years Services are provided to support parents from the time a child is conceived up until the age of 5. How well a child does in their Early Years has a huge impact on how they do in the rest of their lives.

Birmingham City Council plans to create a new integrated Health and Wellbeing Offer for parents by changing the way they deliver the following services:

  • Children’s centres;
  • Health visiting and family nurse partnerships;
  • Parenting support services;
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding support services

They are consulting on how you think these services should be delivered in the future.

Therefore,  we would like to encourage all parents, grandparents, carers and indeed anyone who has strong views about Early Years Services to fill this out.

To capture views they have developed a questionnaire which can completed on line at

https://www.birminghambeheard.org.uk/people-1/early-years-1

The consultation period runs from 30 November 2015 – 28 February 2016.
